Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-10-13

These terms cover your use of PromptPlay, its tools and its public endpoints. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Using the site

PromptPlay is free to read and needs no account. You can use the reviews, rankings, guides and the AI Slop Detector for your own reading and decisions.

Reviews are editorial

Reviews, rankings, Slop Scores and Fun Meter scores are our editorial judgment. They are opinions built on receipts, and How we test explains how we reach them.

Apps change. Prices, limits, policies and scores are true at this review, and the review date is on each page. Check the app's own site or store listing before you pay for anything.

The AI Slop Detector

The detector counts stock AI phrases and makes a guess at which model wrote a text. Its score is an estimate, not proof of who or what wrote something. Do not use it as the only basis for a decision about a person.

No warranty

We work to keep every page accurate, and we fix errors when we find them. Even so, the site, its scores and its tools are provided as they are, without any warranty. A page can be wrong or out of date.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, PromptPlay is not liable for any loss that comes from using the site, its tools, or any app or site we review or link to. That includes money spent on an app because of a review. Nothing here limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Links and trademarks

Our pages link to app stores, app websites and the sources behind each claim. Those sites are run by other people, and we are not responsible for their content, prices or policies.

App names, logos, screenshots and other trademarks belong to their owners. Using them to identify an app in a review does not mean the owner endorses PromptPlay, or that we endorse the owner.

Our text and AI use

How search engines and AI systems may use PromptPlay's text is set out in AI use and attribution. That page governs AI use of our text.

Public endpoints

People and AI agents are welcome to use our public endpoints: the /ask search endpoint, the Markdown version of each page, /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt.

Please use them at a reasonable rate. Do not send traffic meant to overload the site, and do not try to get around its limits. The /ask endpoint accepts queries up to 500 characters and request bodies up to 4 KB, and it rejects anything larger. We may block traffic that breaks these rules.

Privacy

What the site does with your data is in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, this page changes, with a new Last updated date at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
