Replika is one AI companion, called a Rep, that you talk to by text, voice call or video on iPhone and Android. Luka, Inc. makes it, and it has been around since 2017. The App Store lists it as free with in-app purchases and rated 18+, and Google Play rates it "Diverse Content: Discretion Advised."
The company says it rebuilt Replika from the ground up. CEO Dmytro Klochko's manifesto calls the rebuild the biggest update Replika has ever shipped, and the App Store listing says it adds better memory, proactive check-ins, calls, internet access and image generation.
Reviewers report that founder Eugenia Kuyda stepped down as CEO in 2025 and that Klochko, formerly COO, took over.
